ATMOS VR’s aim is to bring creative content to life using the latest immersive technology, constantly evolving VR and pushing the experimental boundaries of immersive experiences. The company will be launching ‘In A Box 3’, a new Hyper immersive experience in Digbeth, Birmingham to open in Summer 2021. This will be the first of 8 planned venues throughout the UK.

About the Role
As a Front of House Assistant, you play a pivotal role within the In A Box team, acting as the first point of contact for customers on the day of their visit. You will provide a positive first impression and set the scene for the mind-blowing experience they are about to embark upon.

You will work in all Front of House spaces, from The Portal (reception desk), welcoming and checking in customers, to the Bar, taking orders and delivering food and beverages to tables. You will be able to think on your feet and assist where needed, ensuring that customers are looked after, leaving them with an experience emblazoned in their memories.

This is a front facing role that will be both fun and challenging. You will be the face of ‘In A Box 3’ and it will be your responsibility to deliver a first-class journey to all our customers. We want you to take pride in your role; you will ensure that our front of house operation runs smoothly and efficiently, and you will enhance the In A Box offering by going above and beyond at every opportunity.

You will be part of a friendly, ambitious, and customer-focused team. You will work in our unique venue and embrace an ever-changing programme of events.

Full training will be provided.

Responsibilities Include

Reception

  • You will greet guests in a warm and enthusiastic manner on arrival, ensuring they are aware of any requirements such as signing the H&S waiver, attending the Safety Briefing etc.
  • You will book guests in for their experience and invite them to enjoy the front of house/Bar space if they are early.
  • You will be on hand to help with any queries, explaining where to go and how the experience will run.
  • You will take ‘walk in’ bookings on the day and in person bookings for future dates.
  • You will ensure the reception area is clean and well presented at all times.
  • You will operate the retail merchandise facility, processing orders, taking payments, restocking and visually merchandising items for sale.
  • You will ensure all photographs are displayed on the photo counter screens and encourage customers to buy them. This will include printing and fulfilling orders and taking payment.
  • You will work to targets and will receive these on a daily basis from the Duty Manager at the start of your shift.

Bar

  • You will prepare the Bar for opening; you will restock as required and record low stock levels in the systems provided.
  • You will always greet guests enthusiastically, taking drinks/snacks orders and demonstrating product knowledge as and when required; you will fulfill orders and process payments.
  • When the business is operating using a pay at table app, you will monitor the orders coming in and fulfill them in a timely manner, delivering drinks/snacks directly to the customer’s table.
  • You will ensure that the Bar and all seating areas are kept clear and tidy.
  • You will report any suspicious or unruly behaviour to the Duty Manager, and you will not serve anyone who appears under the influence of drugs or excess alcohol.
  • You will serve alcohol in accordance with the Challenge 25 scheme and record occasions on which you refuse service
  • You will ensure that the highest hygiene standards are in place and adhered to at all times.

General

  • You will be customer centric, passionate about delivering exceptional service and providing a memorable experience.
  • You will be able to identify areas of improvement and suggest solutions.
  • You will complete day-to-day reactive cleaning and maintenance duties as required, on time and to a high standard.
  • You will ensure that we are operating in accordance with any relevant legislation and in line ATMOS VR policies and procedures, making sure that Health & Safety obligations are met and recorded.
  • You will ensure that the site is COVID-19 Secure, acting in accordance with our COVID-19 Policy to provide a clean and safe environment for both staff and customers.
  • You will attend team briefings and any relevant meetings with regards to the overall venue operation as and when required.
  • You will be prepared to take on other roles and responsibilities at short notice as and when required.
  • You will report any issues you are not able to resolve to the Duty Manager at your earliest opportunity.
  • You will have strong interpersonal skills and a natural flair for engaging and entertaining all visitors.

Kit & Briefing

  • You will understand how the VR kit works and ensure that both headsets and backpacks are always worn correctly and safely.
  • You will be able to confidently demonstrate your knowledge to customers and talk them through how to kit on/kit off, assisting when necessary.
  • You will ensure that the experience runs on time by encouraging participants to make their way through to the briefing room once they have their kit on, ready to pay attention to the briefing video.
  • You will assist in all battery management processes within the experience.
  • You will clean the VR kit as required in accordance with our H&S/COVID-19 Policy.

Host

  • You will be responsible for consistently maintaining high standards throughout the experience so that participants are happy and safe.
  • You will be readily available to assist with any incidents in the game zone, roaming freely and using your initiative as well as being directed by the Games Supervisor.
  • Without delay, you will pro-actively and confidently approach participants who show signs of distress or who may be struggling to resolve any issues and provide support and reassurance.

Photography

  • You will encourage groups to have their photo taken at the end of the experience.
  • You will operate the camera to take group photos.

General

  • You will be customer centric and passionate about delivering excellent service and memorable experiences.
